Protecting your family is possible with the right security systems for home. Of course, these will also require that you are getting the kind of help needed to install them correctly. This includes not only the alarm triggers. It includes making sure that cameras are installed in the right manner.
Installing Alarm Triggers
The most basic installation in home security involves magnetic sensors which are attached to windows and doors throughout the home. As soon as the windows or doors are closed, they are ready to be armed through the master system. Make sure that both sides of the magnet are installed on a closed entry point.
All of the wires leading to the master control, unless using a wireless system, should be kept out of sight. The best way to do this is to run the wires within the walls of the home. If this is not possible, use caulking to cover the wires and make it look as if they do not exist.
If using motion sensors, they should be installed at waist level in the corner of a room. If there is anything impeding the device from having direct view of the entire room, you can install the device higher. These are great for security systems in in your home as they will detect movement in case your external detection devices are bypassed.
Install line-of-sight lasers on doorways as part of your security alarm. Make sure that the receiver is at the same height as the corresponding unit. This will help in making sure that the line will only be broken when someone walks through the entry. Make sure that these will not be tripped by animals or by a swinging door.
Connecting the Devices
All of the devices used in alarm systems need to be directed at the main control unit. This will allow you to arm all of the devices in your home from one location. Making sure that you have access to all or particular parts of the system allow you to have more control over the level of security you have at any given time.
